Di acara CinemaCon semalam, Warner Bros. telah mengumumkan yang filem The Batman 2 kini dalam pembangunan, namun tajuk rasmi filem tersebut masih belum disahkan.
Pengarah filem The Batman, Matt Reeves turut mengumumkan yang beliau akan menulis dan mengarahkan filem The Batman 2, selain mengumumkan yang Robert Pattinson (sudah semestinya) akan kembali sebagai Bruce Wayne/ Batman, selain Zoë Kravitz yang turut akan tampil semula sebagai Catwoman. Namun, tiada perincian lain yang diumumkan.

Selain Robert Pattinson dan Zoë Kravitz, filem The Batman turut dibintangi Paul Dano sebagai Riddler, Jeffrey Wright sebagai James Gordon, John Turturro sebagai Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard sebagai Gil Colson, Andy Serkis sebagai Alfred Pennyworth, dan Colin Ferrell sebagai Oswald Cobblepot/ Penguin.
Berikut adalah sinopsis filem The Batman:
“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens. When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman, Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin, Carmine Falcone, and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler.
