Berikut adalah sinopsis rasmi filem Avatar: The Way of Water:
“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure”.
Filem Avatar: The Way of Water dijadualkan untuk tayangan pada 16 Disember 2022. Selain Sam Worthington dan Zoe Saldana, filem ini dibarisi oleh pelakon asal filem Avatar seperti Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, Matt Gerald, Sigourney Weaver, dan Stephen Lang, selain bakal menampilkan pelakon seperti Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Edie Falco, Vin Diesel, dan Jemaine Clement.
Menariknya, memandangkan jarak masa yang agak lama antara filem terdahulu dan sambungan filem Avatar ini, 20th Century Studios juga akan menayangkan semula filem Avatar (2009) di pawagam terpilih mulai 23 September 2022.
